Aiight, out of all the girls I have dated, only about two or three actually wore make up. Now I do not understand why these women feel that make up is ssssoooo important. Personally I do like what make up does. I like seeing a girl with rosy cheeks and glossy lips, longer dark eye lashes and maybe an exotic eye lining, but there is a difference between just normal make up and an obsession.
I beleive guys do it too. I know some guys that get there ears pierced and would never leave the house without wearing an earring. I too hate it when I leave the house without my ring or my chain, but this topic is about make up and its influences through socialization.
I have a big issue with make up commercials, because they only cast the most beautiful "America's opinion" and they represent the make up. Then these commercials drill in women's...and some men's, heads that they can look like models with the make up. ITS JUST MAKIN MONEY! I've seen ten different mascara commercials and they all are the same exact thing just a different name and color and yet women buy it believing it will make them better.
I used to tell one of the girls I used to date. When i came over, I didn't want your hair done, I didn't want you to put on any make up, I didn't want you to get dressed. I wanted to come through with you in your comfortable pajamas, a wife beater or whatever, no bra, no panties, just u and me and chill time. And she did just that and when a couple is comfortable then everything seems ten times more easier.
I'm starting to believe that women who become too attached to make up begin to hide themselves in a MASK. They may act different and think different just because their make up makes them feel a certain way. I think a confidence booster is great, but when a women acts more like an asshole to ppl because she thinks she's Deville from 101 dalmations, then it is a problem.
I love arguing with my girl about make up or no make up...of course I lose 90% of the time, but yet it amuses me to see how much society gets into people's heads and control what they buy. Fashion and Food, two multi billion dollar industries that play the shit out of us into buying more and more of the crap they put out. How is it that mean went from tight jeans in the 60s, tight "hang off the ass" jeans in the 70s, baggy "hang off the ass jeans" in the 80s and 90s and now we back to tight ass jeans in the 21st century?
I think make up should be like a pair of nice high heels for women. Take it out on special occasions. Show the true you and embrace it and have some fun with the fashion and glamor when ya go out.
My personal opinion...I believe women who need their nails done, hair done, make up done, the best clothes possible are of one of two things: 1: they do not know who they are and they need and let society tell them who they are. 2: they are single and are really desperate for some love.
Guys we have our issues too. Stop trying to look cuter than the girls. The women are supposed to be the pretty ones. A guy shouldn't be in a woman's salon more than a woman. I'm not saying don't groom yaself, but don't become obsessed with looking better than ya date. They supposed to look good, give them the spot light.
